Cassandre, A.M.

Paris: Maison Prunier, 1934.

Color postcard-sized advertising piece, 3 x 5 inches. Original color lithograph, signed and dated in the image, of fish and a lobster above a white table-clothed dining table. Printed on the recto in green and black with information about the famous London restaurant Maison Prunier in London and Paris. This image, a departure from the more angular lines of Cassandre's earlier work, was an announcement for the opening of Maison Prunier, and was printed in at least three formats: a large billboard, a 5x7 plain car with no border, and this 3x5 card with text on the recto. London phone number scratched out, with a new tiny number stamped in blue, otherwise in fine condition.
